CIVIC VOICE
BAALHS became a founder member in April 2010
Civic Voice is a new ‘umbrella’ body for local amenity societies, and replaces the Civic Trust, which went into administration in 2008. The President of Civic Voice is Griff Rhys Jones.
Societies like ours pay a capitation fee of £1.50 per member, which gives BAALHS access to Civic Voice’s regular newsletters and advice service. Civic Voice is in a position to negotiate with Government departments over environmental issues, and the more societies which join, the greater its influence is likely to be.
BAALHS members are currently eligible to apply for a free single visit pass to most National Trust properties. Members of BAALHS should contact the Hon Treasurer for more details. If you are
a member of the National Trust, you can still apply to give the pass to a friend.
